During the summer of 2008 our National Organization coordinated and ran the largest service project ever undertaken. The plan was for 1000 arrowmen to gather at 5 different locations to assist the National Forrest Service in trail work and invasive species removal. One of the service project locations was in the George Washington-Jefferson National Forests and there was more work than time, so portions of the project were not completed.
SR-7A has taken on the continuation of the project as our section service project to continue were AC5 left off. Each lodge has been asked to pick a weekend and manpower, the National Forrest Service for George Washington-Jefferson National Forest is providing the materials and guidance
Kudos to Alex Wiatt of Shenandoah Lodge and Dave Singletary of Wahunsenakah for taking the lead in clearing the way with the National Forest Service to allow this project to continue.
Has your Lodge made the commitment?
